Ediment: Exiled Winter's Curse by Rosalie Skinner

Dear Readers,

yesterday I explained in detail why I like Rosalie Skinner's The Chronicles of Caleath series so much. I also told you why I find it that difficult to write a full review of Exiled:Autumn's Peril (eBook, September 2011) which is the second book in the series.

Instead of a full review you get a shorter one which I named for myself

Exiled: Winter's Curse (eBook, November 2011)
[MuseItUp Publishing, AMAZON Kindle ASIN: B0065RMQYA]

Exiled: Winter's Curse continues exactly where Exiled: Autumn's Peril ended. The main difference between the two books is the scope of the main theme. The first book has been clearly dominated by revenge and trustfulness. With Exiled: Winter's Curse Caleath goes on a mission which Rosalie Skinner described as "killed or be killed". The reader get to know a new facet of Claeth's character. He pledges to help people which he attacked unwittingly before.

The high quality of character development continues. Rosalie Skinner's writing is like a magnifying glass wandering through Claeth's brain. She opens the drawers which contain pieces of his past. And these kind of flashbacks reveal also information about the space beyond the planet. At the same time the real time story is pushed forward with old and new twists and turns.

With the change of the season life gets harsher and has an impact on the story Beside that Caleath has to deal with new enemies, new characters who follow their own pecuiar plans. It is a pleasure to read how some of the new characters blossom. In several cases you have to answer for yourself the same questions as Caleath. Do people tell the truth? Would you offer your help? Not to forget the heinous decision: First shoot then ask or first ask then shoot. Sometimes only your instincts will guarantee your survival.
In the south it should be warmer .... dragon fire will let you sweat. And I can tell you that giant ants can give you the creeps nearly like giant spiders. Do not feel certain that all characters will be alive at the end of Exiled: Autumn's Peril.

When reading along you hopefully will notice the sometimes slight breath of irony which change the dark color of the cold and winterly world.

Exiled: Winter's Curse is a book which let you forget time and space BUT you will reach the end before you can say knife.

Exiled: Winter's Curse is the strong sequel in The Chronicles of Caleath series
If you look for an emotional character who desperately tries to change from reaction to action limited to one planet with unknown continents and cultures framed in a fantasy and science fiction setting then read Exiled:Autumn's Peril and Exiled: Winter's Curseby Rosalie Skinner.

As most authors Rosalie Skinner is keen to read comments from her readers and also from her soon to be readers. Several ways lead to Rosalie Skinner and her magnificient The Chronicles of Caleath series:
